PRELIMINARY INFORMATION - FATAL PEDESTRIAN-INVOLVED TRAFFIC CRASH - HIGHWAY 30 NEAR WARREN

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers, assisted by local law enforcement agencies, are on scene investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved traffic crash on Highway 30 between Scappoose and Warren near Rushing Lane. The following brief information is released and will be updated later this morning, possibly not until after 8:00 a.m.
On March 6, 2012 at approximately 10:59 p.m. a report was received that an adult male was struck by a westbound sport utility vehicle on Highway 30 near Rushing Lane. Upon arrival, emergency responders confirmed the pedestrian was deceased at the scene. The male driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.
No names or other information anticipated to be released pending completion of on scene investigation and attempts to notify next of kin.
OSP troopers are being assisted at the scene by Columbia County Sheriff's Office, St. Helens Police Department, Scappoose Police Department, and ODOT.
