21:35 11/14/2011
On November 14th, 2011 at approximately 4:00 PM Clark County 911 received a phone call from a representative of Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital reporting they were treating a victim of a gunshot wound. The female victim had driven herself to the hospital from 17605 NE Lucia Falls Rd. The victim stated that her boyfriend, Michael T. Boswell, 29, of Georgia, had shot her in the head with a .22 caliber revolver while she was asleep at their residence. The victim believes Michael to be despondent over their relationship. Clark County deputies responded to the Lucia Falls Rd. address to contact Michael. Deputies observed Michael inside the residence, however, he was uncooperative with attempts to contact him via phone and loud hailing. Due to Michael's uncooperative behavior, the violent nature of the crime, and the use of a firearm the Southwest Washington Regional SWAT team was activated. For the next several hours Michael continued to be uncooperative with negotiators. However, at
approximately 7:24 PM Michael surrendered to law enforcement without incident.
Michael was arrested for one count of 1st Degree Assault.
The victim is currently at Legacy Emmanuel Hospital in Portland where she is in serious condition
The victim's name is not being released at this time.
The Clark County Major Crimes Unit is conducting this ongoing investigation.
There will be no further information released at this time.
