Press Release
07-05-2011

On July 4th, 2011 at 0841 hours, Sandy Officers were dispatched to the address 18075 Langensand Rd to assist the Sandy Fire Department on a residential fire. While on scene, fire personnel informed the Sandy Officers the house in question contained a marijuana grow in the basement. Officers contacted the tenant Jay Sun Raven DOB: 01-23-1953 who admitted responsibility for the marijuana grow.

Mr. Raven told officers he was a medical marijuana caretaker (grower) for three patients. As he is a caretaker for three patients, he is allowed to possess 18 mature marijuana plants (over 12 inches in height) and 54 premature plants (under 12 inches in height). Mr. Raven offered to show the officers his marijuana grow. When the officers entered the basement, they found Mr. Raven was outside compliance by 42 mature plants.

Officers seized the 42 largest plants as evidence and allowed Mr. Raven to keep the remaining 18 mature plants and 51 premature plants. Mr. Raven was only out of compliance regarding the mature plants.

This case will be forwarded to the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office for consideration of charges to include Unlawful Manufacturing of Marijuana.
