Mayor Denny Doyle and the Beaverton City Council will be breaking out the barbeques as Beaverton kicks-off its ninth annual Picnics in the Park series on Wednesday, July 13 at 6 p.m. in Schiffler Park (5600 SW Erickson Avenue). New to this year's Picnics in the Park is the addition of free, community entertainment. Informational booths about City programs and services will be available along with representatives from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, the Beaverton Police Department and Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation District during the Picnics. Attendees can also catch a performance by the 40-member Beaverton Community Band.
