The Beaverton Arts Commission (BAC) is hosting new exhibits throughout July at City Hall (4755 SW Griffith Drive) featuring works by talented local artists. The works of art will grace the first, second, and third floor corridors.

"We are so pleased to be able to showcase the art of such talented and accomplished local artists in July and August," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "With such a wide variety of works being shown, this exhibit has something for everyone. I encourage all visitors to take a look!"

During the months of July and August, artwork by the Oregon Chapter of the Women's Caucus for Art can be found on all three floors at City Hall.

Oregon Women's Caucus for Art (OWCA)
For July, OWCA members have submitted artwork of various media to encompass the exhibition theme of "Crossing Boundaries/Breaking Boundaries." There will be several art quilts with mixed media incorporating two-dimensional and three-dimensional applications, three-dimensional, assemblage-sculptural works, fiber art objects, gauze/fiber masks, mixed media paper works, mixed media shadowbox paintings, photography, two dimensional paintings, and a free standing three-dimensional, mixed media sculpture. The work reveals the modern trend and perspective of using several media, versus the traditional approach of using a single media in painting or sculpture.

The Women's Caucus for Art is a national non-profit association of professional women artists, art educators, art students and arts administrators. The national caucus was formed in 1972 as an outgrowth of the College Art Association. The Oregon chapter was formed in 1987 to reach out to women in Oregon and southwest Washington. Membership has grown nationally to more than 35 local chapters. National conferences are held every year in February in varying cities throughout the United States.

Beaverton City Hall is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All art works are for sale. If you are interested in experiencing more art collections, the Beaverton Arts Commission also has revolving art exhibits at Providence St. Vincent Hospital (9205 Southwest Barnes Road), Cedar Hills Recreation Center (11640 SW Park Way), and the Artisan Salon (4430 SW Lombard Avenue).
