Vancouver, WA - On July 8, 2011 at 9:40 AM the Clark County Sheriff's Office responded to First Independent Bank on the report of a bank robbery. Preliminary investigation shows that Allan "Scott" Wilkinson of Vancouver, age 50, walked into the bank at 8015 NE Hwy 99, Vancouver, WA in the Hazel Dell area. He presented a note demanding cash. Mr. Wilkinson did not display a weapon. The bank employee gave Mr. Wilkinson an undisclosed amount of cash that he placed into a backpack he was carrying. Mr. Wilkinson then left the bank on foot.

The victim bank employee immediately notified other bank employees who called 911 and tripped a robbery alarm. The employees were able to provide real time information to 911 dispatchers on the robbery suspect as he simply walked east across the large parking lot. As Deputy Paul Prather arrived in the area he saw a man matching the description, less a red sweatshirt described by bank employees, standing on the corner of NE 78th Street and NE 13th Avenue. Deputy Prather contacted the man who was identified as Mr. Wilkinson and determined he was the man who had robbed the bank. Deputy Prather arrested Mr. Wilkinson and booked him into the Clark County Jail for Robbery in the second degree.

Deputy Prather recovered the backpack, cash, and red sweatshirt from Mr. Wilkinson's person.

Mr. Wilkinson did not have any identification. We are supplying his name based solely on what he told us. Mr. Wilkinson appeared to be walking to his home only two blocks south of where he was arrested.
