GRESHAM, Ore. - On Friday, July 29 at 4:00 p.m. Mayor Shane T. Bemis will welcome Portland Timbers Assistant Coach and Director of Coaching for EastSide United Jim Rilatt and Timber players Freddie Braun and Jake Gleeson to Gradin Community Sports Park located at 2303 SE Palmquist Road. Members of the Timbers and Friends of Trees will plant a tree in honor of a$1,000 donation made by EastSide United Football Club (players will be available for autographs after the tree planting). The tree planting will follow the end of first day of play of the 10th annual Cascade Cup soccer tournament hosted by EastSide United Football Club.
EastSide United Football Club's donation will be used to plant additional trees at a later date. The arboretum already includes 144 trees and 350 native shrubs. Once completed, the arboretum will include over 400 trees representing almost 300 different varieties.
