Mountain Biking & Motocross Also Featured at Portland Parks & Recreation Facility

Portland International Raceway (PIR), run by Portland Parks & Recreation, is proud to present activities and culture all summer long. PIR features bicycle racing Monday and Tuesday nights, with a SPECIAL race July 4th!

Portland International Raceway hosts more than 600 event days per year, is self-supporting and generates more than $45 million and nearly 700 jobs to the Multnomah County economy.

Weekly Short Track Race Schedule:
4:00pm - Course opens for pre-riding & start of free novice women clinics
4:30pm - Day-of-race registration opens & start of free junior clinics
5:40pm - Course closes to pre-riding
5:45pm - Free Kiddie Race (under the trees)
5:55pm - Cat 3 Men & Women (Junior & Beginners)
6:30pm - Cat 2 Women, Cat 2 Men 45+, Singlespeed
7:00pm - Cat 2 Men U35 & Cat 2 Men 35-44
7:30pm - Pro, Cat 1 Men & Women

Monday nights there is also the Short Track MOUNTAIN BIKE SERIES through August 1 at http://www.portlandracing.com/

Wednesday night revs up with the NHRA Summit Series bracket drag racing plus the Beaches Cruise-in. See 125 dragsters racing, plus more than 1,000 hot rods and classic cars on display with the Cruise-in. Gates open 4 p.m., admission is $8, kids 12 and under are free.

Thursday nights is MOTOCROSS at PIR, with info at www.thursdaynightmotocross.com. Admission is $8, gates open at 4 p.m., with practice followed by first motos at 7 p.m. You can see 250 riders from little kids to pros on the well-light motocross track.

Friday and Saturday nights are property of the Les Schwab Late Night Drags, with gates open at 6 p.m. Anyone can race their own car on the 1/4 mile for fun. It costs $25 to race, $9 for spectators. http://www.pirstore.com/pirdrags/
