INJURY MOTORCYCLE CRASH - HIGHWAY 22E EAST OF GATES (PHOTO)

A Waldport-area man received non-life threatening injuries Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed along Highway 22E east of Gates in Marion County. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers from the Salem Area Command office are continuing the investigation.
According to Senior Trooper Carlos Barrientos, on June 11, 2011 at approximately 3:45 p.m. a 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by LLOYD T. BANES, age 52, from Waldport, was eastbound on Highway 22E near milepost 46 when, for an unknown reason, it drifted onto the gravel shoulder. BANES lost control and crashed his motorcycle.
BANES was transported by local emergency responders to Stayton Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He was wearing a protective helmet.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Gates Fire Department and ODOT.
