Tuesday, June 28: Toque Libre (Flamenco musical term meaning "free form").
Toque Libre is the brain child of Iranian-born Mehdi Farjami and the Chilean-born brothers Pablo and Ricardo Ojeda. During the 1990s, the Ojeda brothers dominated the regional music scene with the infectious rhythms of their Portland-based Latin-funk ensemble, Rubberneck. Recently, this trio has combined their talents to form Toque Libre. The band combines the melodic pop sensibilities of the Ojeda brother's music-writing style with the driving Flamenco Rumba rhythms of Mehdi Farjami's Guitar playing. Toque Libre's sound is made complete with the addition of hypnotic pulses borrowed from the Afro-Cuban genre. For more information, visit www.toquelibre.com.

Tuesday, July 26: Patrick Lamb
Nominated for a Grammy in 2007, Lamb is no stranger to recognition for his achievements, both for his professional work and for his contributions to charitable organizations and causes. With roots steeped in Southern blues and jazz, Lamb has performed with groups that opened for BB King and played with G.C. Cameron, formerly with the Temptations. When Lamb moved to the Pacific Northwest, he rapidly began to make a name for himself as an artist with soul and versatility. For more information, visit www.patricklamb.com.

Tuesday, August 30: Keegan Smith & The Fam
Smith's band, "The Fam," is an eclectic mix of musicians, producers, and bandleaders from the Northwest's music scene. Together, they create an energetic and entertaining sound that has captivated audiences of every age. Portland's Willamette Week reviews The Fam saying, "[their] stuff is like musical summer" and "life's a little sunnier when listening to them." The band took home the award for Best Live Performance in the 2011 Portland Music Awards, and four of Smith's songs will appear on the soundtrack to the new movie "The Frankenstein Brothers." To make the nights a true celebration of the arts, dance demonstrations will be presented during band intermissions. The diverse schedule of dance presentations will include Portland Flamenco in June, Painted Sky/Northstar Dance Company, honoring the Native American culture, in July and Valley Square Dancers in August.
