An Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop last Wednesday about ten miles east of Burns led to the discovery of approximately 3 lbs. of marijuana and marijuana-related charges for a Lodi, California man. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section assisted with the investigation following the traffic stop.

On March 23, 2011 at 11:20 a.m. an OSP sergeant stopped a 2011 Chevrolet Impala displaying California license plates with three occupants eastbound on Highway 20 near milepost 145 for a traffic violation. The vehicle's driver was identified as LOGAN C. STELLMACHER, age 23, from Lodi, California.

Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led to the discovery and seizure of two plastic containers each with two sacks of marijuana containing approximately 3 lbs. of marijuana and a handgun. The estimated value of the seized marijuana is $7500.

STELLMACHER was arrested and lodged at the Harney County Circuit Court for Unlawful Possession, Distribution and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana.

A 23-year old male passenger was cited for Possession of less than an Ounce of Marijuana. A female passenger was not charged or cited.
