Preliminary Information - OSP Trooper-Involved Shooting in Oakridge Area

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION - OSP TROOPER-INVOLVED SHOOTING IN OAKRIDGE AREA

On September 18, 2010 at approximately 9:30 p.m. an Oregon State Police trooper was been involved in an officer-involved shooting with a male subject in the area of Fish Hatchery Road and Salmon Creek Road just east of Oakridge. The trooper was not injured and medical care is being provided to the subject shot by the trooper. There is no confirmation on the identity of the subject. More information is anticipated to be released Sunday following preliminary investigation and approval from the Lane County District Attorney's Office.

OSP PIO Lieutenant Hastings will be traveling to the area but won't be available for questions until more information is approved for release. Media will be notified when a briefing will be scheduled for Sunday.
