**UPDATE** PORTLAND FIRE RESPONDING TO WATER RESCUE IN JOHNSON CREEK

***Update*** 9:15 pm

A 15-year old male jumped into Johnson Creek for unknown reasons. Portland Fire & Rescue divers have switched from a rescue effort to a recovery operation. The Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) is onscene with the two boys who were with the victim.

Clackamas County Swift Water Rescue is assisting Portland Fire & Rescue in the recovery effort. The Portland Police Bureau is notifying the victim's parents.

Portland Fire & Rescue is responding to a water rescue in Johnson Creek in the area of SE 45th & SE Harney. Currently divers and surface swimmers from Portland Fire & Rescue are searching for a victim; it is unclear how the victim ended up in the water. Recent rains have made water levels unusually high, making conditions difficult and dangerous for rescuers.

Media staging will be at SE 45th & SE Harney. Updated information will be posted when it becomes available.
