Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into a two vehicle critical injury crash Sunday night on Highway 22 near Dolph Junction about eleven miles southeast of Hebo in Tillamook County. Five people, three adults and two children, were injured and transported to various hospitals.

According to OSP Sergeant Greg Plummer, on May 16, 2010 at approximately 8:36 p.m. a 2004 Kia Spectra driven by SEAN NICHOLAS RODGERS, age 25, from Corvallis, was eastbound on Highway 22 near milepost 11 when control was lost on a right curve. A westbound 2000 GMC Utility truck driven by WESTIN JOHN McIRVIN, age 35, from Lebanon, braked hard as the Kia was coming into the westbound lane but McIRVIN was unable to avoid a near head-on collision.

RODGERS was critically injured and transported by LifeFlight to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. He was using safety restraints. Three passengers in his vehicle were transported with non-life threatening injuries:

* Right front passenger CHRISTY MARIE MARTIN, age 19, from Tillamook, was taken by ambulance to the Grande Ronde area then transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health Sciences University. She was using safety restraints.
* Rear passenger MADDASON MARTIN, age 1 1/2, from Tillamook was transported by ambulance to Salem Hospital. She was using a child safety seat.
* Rear passenger CORBIN RODGERS, age 1, from Corvallis, was transported by ambulance to Salem Hospital. He was using a child safety seat.

McIRVIN was transported by ambulance to Tillamook General Hospital with minor injuries. Safety restraint use information is not available.

OSP troopers from the Tillamook work site were assisted at the scene by ODOT, Yamhill ambulance, and Nestucca Fire & Rescue. The highway was closed for about three hours.
