TRAFFIC COLLISION INVESTIGATION IN VANCOUVER

On 08-03-14 at approximately 8:26 pm, Vancouver Police and ambulance units were dispatched to a call of "Traffic Collision, vehicle vs. bicyclist" at Norris Rd and NE 18th St intersection.
It was then confirmed that an SUV had collided with a bicyclist at or near above intersection. Involved bicyclist suffered serious injuries to his head and neck. He was transported to a local hospital and later listed to be in critical condition.
Further investigation revealed that driver of the SUV was under the influence of alcohol. Driver was arrested and processed for a DWI related criminal charge.
Driver was identified as twenty eight year old Nicholas Badger. Nicholas was a resident of Gresham, OR at time of this report.
Vancouver Police Department's Traffic Unit investigators responded to assist and processed the scene.
