At 1:32 pm, firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a residential fire at 2448 NW Arnott Lane in Portland. Calls to 9-1-1 indicated that the back of the home was involved in fire, including t he back deck.
Upon arrival firefighters found heavy fire coming from the back side of the structure, which had spread up all three stories, into the attic, and had vented through the roof. Firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack, effectively stopping the fire from spreading to other parts of the home or nearby structures.
After conducting a primary and secondary search of the home, it was discovered that nobody was home at the time of this fire. There were no reported injuries. A fire investigator responded to the scene and is currently working to determine the cause of this fire and a damage estimate.
Firefighters from Portland Fire & Rescue also responded to this fire, providing mutual aid to the emergency response effort.
This release will be updated with the fire cause when it becomes available.
