COMPUTER SERVER CAUSING DELAYS IN PROCESSING FIREARM PURCHASE APPLICATION PROCESS

On Friday, March 8, 2013, a server problem affecting web access and phone transactions for the Firearms Instant Check System (FICS) is interrupting online processing for background checks for persons attempting to purchase firearms.
The Oregon State Police understands how frustrating this unexpected disruption is for those who rely on the service. We appreciate your patience as we resolve this problem with our vendor and will work hard to complete outstanding requests as soon as possible.
