UPDATE #2: SEARCH FOR SUSPECT WANTED IN SHOOTING OF LINCOLN CITY POLICE OFFICER

Highway 101 is being opened in both directions between the Waldport bridge and NW Sandpiper Drive while the search continues for the suspect wanted in connection with Sunday night's shooting of a Lincoln City police officer. Incident command advises there will be restrictede access to side streets while the search continues.
Local residents and travelers through the Waldport area are cautioned to not pick up any hitchhikers or unknown persons seeking a ride in the area. Anyone with information regarding suspicious activity or suspicious persons are asked to immediately call Lincoln County 9-1-1.
