Oregon State Police (OSP) detectives and troopers are seeking two persons of interest believed to be present early Sunday morning when a man and woman were assaulted with a shotgun at a residence south of Florence. An adult male was assaulted and his girlfriend was shot in the stomach. The two persons of interest believed to possibly be traveling in a sport utility vehicle described below are sought by OSP detectives for questioning in this investigation.

On June 13, 2010 at approximately 1:00 a.m. the two victims and a small child were visiting a residence in the 84000 block of Green Gate Road, south of Florence near Honeyman State Park. Also at the residence were two people identified as VICTOR GLEN CARON, age 46, and his girlfriend, TANYA MINTEY, age 40. Preliminary investigation indicates an argument occurred leading to a 27-year old female being shot in the stomach with a shotgun, and her 26-year old boyfriend being struck in the head with the shotgun but was not shot.

The male victim carried the injured female victim from the home and fled in their vehicle with the child to a nearby gas station where they called 9-1-1. Florence police initially responded and then notified OSP because the crime scene was outside of the city's jurisdiction.

The two victims were initially transported to Peace Harbor Hospital in Florence. The female was then taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield with serious injuries. The male victim was treated and released. Their names are not being released at this time.

OSP troopers and detectives responded, and with the help of Lane County deputies the house was surrounded. Officers entered the home about 5:45 a.m. and found it unoccupied.

CARON and MINTEY are believed to have left the home possibly in a blue 2000 Dodge Durango displaying Oregon license 811 DSW. Both are described as white adults but no other descriptive information is confirmed at this time. Both are known to have ties in Nevada and California.

Anyone with information regarding the location of the two persons of interest and/or the Dodge Durango is asked to immediately call OSP Northern Command Center dispatch at (800) 452-7888 or 9-1-1.

No other information for release at this time.
