ONE PERSON KILLED AND ONE INJURED IN COLLISION NEAR DALLAS

A Dallas women is dead this morning and a Salem man is in serious condition following a two car collision on SR 223 near Dallas yesterday morning.
About 7:26 AM on Sunday, June 6th, State Troopers from the Salem and McMinnville Area Commands responded to a two vehicle, head-on, traffic collision on SR 223 near Rickreall Rd. According to Sgt. Corey Simons of the Salem Area Command, a 1995 Isuzu Trooper, being driven by Brock Britt, 24, of Salem, was westbound on SR 223 when for unknown reasons it drifted over the center line in to the eastbound lane of travel. A 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, being driven by Lisa Koloen, 54, of Dallas was traveling eastbound on SR 223 and was struck nearly head on by the Isuzu Trooper. Both vehicles came to rest blocking the lanes of travel.
Lisa Koloen was pronounced deceased at the scene. Brock Britt was transported to Salem Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
SR 223 was closed for approximately three hours while Troopers and an OSP Collision Reconstructionist investigated the crash. OSP was assisted at the scene by the Polk CO Sheriffs Office, Polk Co Fire & Rescue and ODOT. No citations have been issued at this time and the investigation is on-going.
