Just after 1 a.m., a passerby reported flames and smoke coming from Lee Farms at 21975 S.W. 65th Avenue near Tualatin. TVF&R firefighters arrived to find a barn fully engulfed. Despite a lack of fire hydrants in the area, they extinguished the fire quickly and kept it contained to the 24'x42' barn that was primarily used for tours where kids could pet animals. There were no human injuries as a result of the fire, but a calf and 15 chickens perished.

A fire investigator determined that the most probable cause of the fire was a heat lamp which ignited nearby combustibles. An estimate of the damage is $10,080.
