The Clark Vancouver Regional Drug Task Force and the Multnomah County Special Investigations Unit (SIU), along with the Clark County Sheriff's Office concluded a Narcotics Investigations that led to the arrest of three individuals and the recovery of 14.5 pounds of Methamphetamine, 8.5 pounds of Heroin and 3.8 pounds of Cocaine, the seizure of roughly $222,000 in Cash, two vehicles and the recovery of a stolen Firearm (AR-15)

November 4th, 2015 detectives received information that Miguel Trujeque Magna and Juana Santiago Santos would be traveling north of Vancouver to purchase or resupply a quantity of Narcotics. Surveillance was set up and the targets were followed north to the Seattle area where they met up with Luciano Molina Rios. There, detectives observed what appeared to be some sort of transaction take place with individuals counting money.

All three subjects, driving in two separate vehicles then headed back southbound on I-5. As they entered Clark County and passed the 179th Street Exit (Exit 9), Clark County Sheriff Deputies, along with detectives initiated a traffic stop and contacted all parties. At this time, approx. 2 pounds of Heroin was recovered and all three individuals were taken into custody.

Later in the evening a Search Warrant was executed at the Evergreen Park Apartments in Vancouver, Wa. There, Detectives recovered an additional 14.5 pounds of Methamphetamine, 6.5 pounds of Heroin, 3.8 pounds of Cocaine, recovered a stolen AR-15 and seized over $181,000 in US Currency. At another location in Portland, Detectives recovered an additional $37,000 in cash in a safe belonging to Miguel Trujeque Magna.

It should be noted that new Drug Dog, Piper - less than 24 hours after her commissioning, was instrumental in the discovery of the drugs and weapons and the successful conclusion of this investigation resulting in one of the largest drug seizures in the history of the Drug Task Force.
