WILSONVILLE, OR -- The City of Wilsonville's Economic Development Manager Kristin Retherford is the newly-elected President for 2015-16 of the Oregon Economic Development Association (OEDA), a statewide organization of economic-development professionals from city and county governments, state agencies, ports, chambers of commerce, utilities and business groups. OEDA works to provide professional development opportunities for members, or ganize inter-jurisdictional business retention and recruitment efforts, and to advocate for public policies that diversify the economy and grow new job opportunities.

Past President Sarah Garrison said, "Kristin's knowledge and expertise in the economic development arena make her an ideal person to lead the association and help OEDA grow and diversify Oregon's economy."

Wilsonville City Manager Bryan Cosgrove affirmed that, "Being named president of OEDA is not only great recognition of Kristin's collaboration skills and excellent work product, but having her in the primary leadership role at OEDA offers increased exposure and more partnership opportunities for Wilsonville as well."

Retherford explains, "I am honored and excited to be OEDA's new president and I look forward to working with all of our members throughout the state to retain existing businesses and attract new industry to Oregon."

At OEDA's Oct. 20 board meeting, in addition to electing Retherford as President, the OEDA Board also elected the following officers:
* Vice President: Jon Stark of Redmond Economic Development, Inc.
* Treasurer: Sarah Case of Lane County
* Secretary: Colleen Padilla of Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc.
