Local police are raising money for a Christmas charity in a unique way: They're scooping ice cream all month.

Starting tonight, "Cops Running Cone" will happen every Tuesday in October from 5-10 p.m. at the Gladstone Baskin-Robbins (19510 SE McLoughlin Blvd., Gladstone, OR 97027).

From 5-10 p.m. every Tuesday in October, at least one police officer or Sheriff's Office deputy will be scooping discounted ice cream for customers.

A percentage of each ice-cream sale will be donated to "Shop with a Cop" -- an annual charity event in which local police present local children with $100 gift certificates and take each child on a shopping spree at the Clackamas Wal-Mart. This year's "Shop with a Cop" is set for Saturday, December 12, 2015; for more information visit http://ccpobf.org/Christmas-shop-with-a-cop

Every $100 raised during "Cops Running Cone" means one more kid can "Shop with a Cop" in December.

"Cops Running Cone" is presented by the Clackamas County Peace Officers Benevolent Foundation (CCPOBF) and the Gladstone Baskin-Robbins. For more information visit http://ccpobf.org/cops-running-cone/
