Beaverton Invites Local Businesses to Learn More About Grant Programs for Redevelopment and Business Improvements

BEAVERTON INVITES LOCAL BUSINESSES TO LEARN MORE ABOUT GRANT PROGRAMS FOR REDEVELOPMENT AND BUSINESS IMPROVEMENTS

BEAVERTON, Ore. - The City of Beaverton invites local business owners and property owners in downtown Beaverton and along Allen Blvd to attend one of two upcoming meetings discussing the three matching grant programs recently launched. Business and property owners can attend on the following dates:

* Thursday, Oct. 15 from 2:30-4 p.m. at the Beaverton Community Center (12350 SW Fifth St. #100)
* Thursday, Oct. 29 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Beaverton Activities Center (12500 SW Allen Blvd.)

"We learned through our award-winning community vision program that people want to see the city invest in downtown improvements," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "These programs are intended to help keep our businesses thrive in Beaverton. I'm looking forward to the projects that will be undertaken."

Storefront Improvement Pilot Program. This revamped program will allow property and business owners in downtown Beaverton and on SW Allen Blvd to apply for assistance with exterior business enhancements. Applications for the first round of funding are due November 6.

Tenant Improvement Pilot Program. This program will help attract new downtown restaurants and renovate or expand interiors of existing restaurants. Applications for the first round of funding are due November 6.

Development Opportunity Strategy Pilot Program. This program will help property owners and developers explore opportunities within Beaverton's urban renewal district. This program has an open application, allowing projects to occur throughout the year.
