A fast moving fire heavily damaged a barn and contents inside near the 9000-block of SW Clark Hill Road in the Aloha area of Washington County. The first call came into 911 at 11:43am from a neighbor reporting heavy black smoke and flames. It was initially reported that the resident may have been home but crews quickly confirmed that no one was home at the time of the fire.

Crews from Aloha Station 62 arrived first and began a defensive attack on the fire. Additional crews arrived to fight the fire including water tenders to shuttle firefighting water. The bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly and crews remained on-scene to douse hot spots and apply firefighting foam to ensure the fire was fully extinguished. No injuries were reported and no other structures were threatened.

A TVF&R investigator is working to determine cause of the fire and damage estimate. At least two vehicles and other farming implements were damaged as a result of the fire. The crew's quick action to contain the fire solely to the barn saved two tractors, a combine, and farm truck in a nearby structure from damage.
