Disaster action team volunteers with the American Red Cross this morning responded to amulti-family fire that occurred in the 1200 block of Shelley Rd. in Coquille, OR. The fire affected five adults, nine children and a pet.
Red Cross provided food, clothing, shoes, lodging, linens and comfort kits to the affected families.
The Red Cross advocates emergency preparedness and offers the installation of free smoke alarms in communities across Oregon and southwest Washington. Residents may call (503) 528-5783 to schedule an appointment.
