RED CROSS CLOSING CAVE JUNCTION SHELTER, ASSISTING AFTER MEDFORD FIRE

The American Red Cross Cascades Region has closed the evacuation shelter in Cave Junction. The Red Cross operations center has received an update that firefighters have contained the Krauss Lane fire in Josephine County. The fire is currently being mopped up and all evacuation levels have been lifted.
Red Cross responders are also providing immediate emergency assistance for five adults and six children affected by a multi-family residential fire Aug. 8 in the 10 block of Elm Street in Medford, Jackson County. The Red Cross provided food, clothing, shoes, bedding/linens, comfort kits, stuffed animals, disaster mental health, and recovery information.
