Red Cross disaster action team volunteers this morning responded to a single-family home fire that occurred in the 14000 block of NE Axford Rd in Battleground, WA. The fire affected two adults, three children and several pets. Red Cross provided comfort kits, blankets and information about recovery services.

The Red Cross advocates emergency preparedness and offers the installation of free smoke alarms in communities across Oregon and southwest Washington. Residents may call (503) 528-5783 to schedule an appointment.
