August 28, 2015--Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle rider that was missing. The rider was later located deceased over an embankment.

On August 27, 2015, at 10:22 a.m., Washington County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the area of NW Highway 26 in the community of Timber. It was reported a group of 10 motorcycles had been riding in the area the previous night. The group reportedly had a final stop in Vernonia then departed in different directions. A family member reported that Vadim Danilin, 24, from Portland did not return home and no one has seen or heard from him since they left Vernonia.

Sheriff's Deputies began an extensive search of the roadways in the remote area. With a large area to search, Sheriff's Deputies searched for any signs of a crash or where Mr. Danilin's 2005 Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle may have left the roadway.

On August 27, 2015, at 7:43 p.m., Sheriff's Deputies were notified by a searcher that they found signs where a motorcycle left the roadway at the 26000 block of NW Timber Road. Vadim Danilin was located deceased near his motorcycle, about 40 yards over an embankment after failing to negotiate a curve and striking a tree.

It appears that excessive speed may have been a contributing factor in this crash.
The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team assisted with this investigation.
