Portland Fire & Rescue initially responded to an automatic alarm at approximately 5:20 am at 6435 NE Colwood Way, Full Bore Innovations. Witnesses in the area saw smoke coming from the building and called 911. When fire crews arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the 2nd floor windows. Due to difficult access into the building and the manufacturing equipment inside, it was difficult to get water on the fire. The incident commander then called for a 2nd alarm which brought more resources. Crews were able to get the fire under control around 6:00 am.

Fire crews did find a hole burned in the floor at the top of the stairs to the second floor. The crews marked the hole and kept other firefighters from falling through.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

The fire cause is under investigation. Fire crews are still on scene mopping up hot spots and working with the fire investigator.
