Portland Fire and Rescue responded to a vehicle that crashed into a local Plaid Pantry store. The accident occurred at 10:45 this morning at 2116 NE 82NE AVE. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. An adult male that was inside the store was also transported with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle crashed through the front doors of the store and damaged a structural support.

The Portland Fire & Rescue USAR(Urban Search and Rescue) team was called to help shore up the building and reduce risk of collapse. The team used a rescue strut to keep the structure secure while the vehicle was removed from inside the building. Once the vehicle was removed the USAR team used additional equipment to create a temporary support. The actions of the USAR team ensured the safety of customers and helped minimize further damage to the building.
