Gresham, Ore. - Gresham Police Department is asking the public to help identify the person responsible for staring three fires within the last three days in the 18500 block of East Burnside St. All the fires have occurred around a vacant building where local homeless people had been staying.

A couch placed against the outside of the home was set ablaze on Aug. 24 at 2:00 a.m. It was extinguished after someone pulled it into the roadway. On Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m., Gresham firefighters extinguished a fire at one of the building's entrances. At 5:00 a.m. on Aug. 26, neighbors used their garden hoses to put out a fire on the northwest side of the building.

Detectives ask that anyone with information about the person setting the fires call the Gresham Police tip line at 503.618.2719.
