OSP SEEKS PUBLIC ASSISTANCE WITH ILLEGAL HUNTING CASE - CLATSOP COUNTY (PHOTO)

The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division is asking for the public's help to identify the person(s) responsible for the mid-July unlawful killing of a bull elk on Quartz Creek Mainline in Clatsop County.

According to Lieutenant Casey Thomas, on the morning of July 18, 2015, OSP was notified of a dead bull elk on Quartz Creek Mainline. The elk appears to have been shot with a handgun on or around July 16th. The person(s) responsible left the animal to waste and removed its antlers.
Quartz Creek Mainline intersects with Highway 26 near milepost 27 and leads to Lost Lake.

A reward of up to $1000 is offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case. The reward of up to $1000 is comprised of $500 from the Oregon Hunters Association Turn-In-Poacher program and $500 from the Oregon Hunters Association Clatsop County Chapter.
