OSP FISH AND WILDLIFE DIVISION SEEKING PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE IN POACHING CASE - LINN COUNTY

The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division in Albany is asking for the public's help locating the person(s) responsible for the unlawful killing and waste of a doe deer in Linn County.
On Monday, August 3, 2015, an OSP Fish and Wildlife Trooper responded to a complaint of a wasted game mammal on Forest Service Road 1133 off of Quartzville Road, which is located northeast of Sweet Home in eastern Linn County. A doe deer was located in a clearing used for recreational shooting. The deer appeared to only have the back-straps removed, while the person(s) responsible left the remainder of the deer to waste.
A reward of up to $750 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction related to the investigation. The reward is comprised of $250 from the Oregon Hunters Association Turn-In-Poacher (TIP) Program and $500 from the Oregon Hunters Association Mid-Willamette Chapter.
Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Senior Trooper Casey Hunter or Sergeant James Halsey through the TIP hotline at 1-800-452-7888. Information may be kept anonymous.
