MILWAUKIE POLICE INVESTIGATE AUTO VS. PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT. (UPDATE)

On 08-18-15 around 3:30 a.m., Milwaukie Police responded to an auto v. pedestrian accident around the 5000 block of Johnson Creek Boulevard.
According to the preliminary investigation Police learned an adult male was struck by a box truck type delivery vehicle that had been traveling west on Johnson Creek Boulevard. The male sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to OHSU.
UPDATE:
The male transported to OHSU has been identified as 68-year-old Albert Duane Daney. He is currently listed in critical condition but is expected to live.
The driver of the box truck, 59-year-old Hilario Yanez-Mondragon, remained on-scene and has fully cooperated with the police investigation. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
It is still unclear what caused the accident and it is still under investigation
