FATAL PEDESTRIAN INVOLVED CRASH ON HIGHWAY 99E SOUTH OF MILWAUKIE - CLACKAMAS COUNTY

OSP Troopers are continuing the investigation into last night's fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Highway 99E at milepost 7, near SE Holly Ave and Highway 99E.
According to Trooper Ben Looney, August 23, 2015 at approximately 9:16 p.m., Stephanie CHESTNUT, age 44, of Milwaukie, was walking across Highway 99E when she was struck by a 2013 Dodge Avenger operated by Zoe HOYT, age 56, of Gladstone.
Medical personnel arrived and transported CHESTNUT to OHSU where she was later pronounced deceased. Preliminary information indicates that alcohol may have been a contributing factor on the part of CHESTNUT.
HOYT was cooperating with investigators as they conducted a reconstruction of the crash site. The highway was closed for about three hours during the investigation.
OSP was assisted at the scene by the Oregon Department of Transportation, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, and Clackamas County Fire.
