UPDATE 04/01/2015:
The identity of the deceased is Mayhugh, Douglas E., age 35 of Longview, Wa.
Family notifications have been made.
This incident remains under investigation.
Corrections Commander Randy Tangen
No further details will be released at this time.
On March 30, 2015, at approximately 5:05pm, an inmate housed alone in his cell, was found unresponsive from an apparent suicide. Clark County corrections deputies and medical staff immediately began life saving procedures. Vancouver Fire Department personnel responded however the inmate was pronounced dead at 5:23pm.
Detectives from the regional major crimes team are conducting the investigation.
