RED CROSS ASSISTS IN MULTI-FAMILY FIRE IN LEBANON, OREGON

News Release from American Red Cross - Cascades Region
Posted on FlashAlert: April 2nd, 2015 6:33 PM
When a multi-family fire erupted this afternoon in Linn County, American Red Cross disaster action team volunteers were on the scene, helping residents affected by this disaster. Eight adults and ten children, all residents of an apartment building on the 2000 block of Cypress Court in Lebanon, Oregon, received Red Cross services. This includes food, clothing, shoes, lodging, comfort kits, and information about disaster health and disaster mental health services.

On May 9, Red Cross and community volunteers will be canvassing homes in the ZIP code 97355 in Lebanon, to review home-fire preparedness plans with area residents and to install smoke alarms (free of charge) in homes that need them. For more information about this outreach event, visit www.redcross.org/cascadeshfpc.

The Red Cross advocates emergency preparedness: Get informed, make a plan, build a kit, and take a few moments to review your family's exit plan should there be a fire in your home. Information about what to do before, during and after a home fire is available at www.redcross.org or in a free Prepare! Resource Guide published by the American Red Cross Cascades Region. The guide can be downloaded at http://rdcrss.org/1zq8XW6.
