BEAVERTON, Ore. - The City of Beaverton invites residents to share their theme ideas for the 2015 Beaverton Celebration Parade. The winning entrant will receive a prize package, including a celebrity ride in the 58th annual parade on Saturday, Sept. 12. Theme entries are due on Friday, May 1, by 5 p.m.


The winning theme will be used for costumes and floats, so ideal entries are those that can be easily expressed through decorations. Previous parade themes have included: Everything is Golden, Community Pride...City Wide, Dancing in the Streets, A Vision of the Future, The Many Faces of Our City, and Community--For One and All.

There is a limit of two entries per household. Email, mail, and in-person entries must include the resident's full name, email, phone number and street address. Social media entries must include contact information to reach the winning entrant. ABOUT THE PARADE
The Beaverton Celebration Parade began in 1957 and has grown into a community tradition. This year's parade will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m., beginning at the corner of SW Wilson Ave and SW Allen Blvd. It will travel along SW Fifth Ave to Griffith Park. The fifth annual Beaverton Celebration 5K run will begin the day's festivities at 9 a.m. Family cycling event Bike Beaverton will be held on Sunday, September 13 from 1-4 p.m. across from the Beaverton City Library at SW Hall Blvd and SW Third St.
