March 7, 2015 - Washington County Sheriff's Deputies conducted an undercover compliance mission where teenagers attempted to buy alcohol from stores in Washington County.

On March 7, 2015, Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office conducted an undercover operation where underage decoys attempted to purchase alcohol. The 18-year-old underage decoy visited seventeen businesses located the eastern areas of Washington County. The decoy was under the constant supervision of a Sheriff's Deputy. The decoy provided their valid Oregon State issued ID card if requested by the clerk.

Out of the seventeen establishments checked, only one store clerks sold alcohol to the underage decoy. The business was Aloha Liquor (20285 SW TV Hwy). The employee was arrested and later cited and released with a court date. The Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) will be following up with the owner of the business that sold the alcohol to the minor.

The Sheriff's Office recognizes the dangers associated with underage alcohol use and works hard to stop underage drinking. This undercover alcohol sting is one of the many programs the Washington County Sheriff's Office utilizes in our continuing effort to stop underage alcohol use and avoid the potentially devastating aftermath.
