March 5, 2015--Sheriff's Deputies capture a wanted man after he crashed his car. He attempted to run after the crash but was quickly pursued and arrested.

On March 5, 2015, at 10:35 a.m., a Washington County Sheriff's Deputy saw a 1999 Subaru Legacy traveling 88 MPH in a 55 MPH speed zone, eastbound on Highway 26 west of Cedar Hills Boulevard. When the Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop the car, it abruptly stopped at the Cedar Hills exit and a passenger ran from the car and the driver fled in the vehicle. The driver sped away and continued to ignore the Sheriff's Deputy's lights and siren. The deputy discontinued his attempts to stop the car when the driver drove southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 217.

Sheriff's Deputies began receiving 911 calls when the driver failed to successfully exit Hwy 217 at the Walker Road onramp and crashed into the concrete barrier then continued into a neighborhood prior to abandoning the car and fleeing on foot.

A man, later identified as David Allen Sanders, 25, from Milwaukie, fled the Subaru and began running through back yards of several houses. Sheriff's Deputies were assisted by the Beaverton Police Department with containing the area as they searched for Mr. Sanders. A Sheriff's K9 (Tux) searched out and captured Mr. Sanders without further incident as he was hiding in a garage.

A handgun was recovered where the passenger bailed out of the car on Highway 26. It is believed to be associated with this incident. Sheriff's Deputies suspect there may be another handgun outstanding related to this incident. The passenger has yet to be identified or located.

David Allen Sanders was lodged in the Washington County Jail. He was charged with
Felony Attempt to Elude, Possession of Methamphetamine, Burglary, Reckless Driving, Criminal Trespassing and a parole related to a previous robbery conviction. He is held on $10,000 bail. He will likely face additional charges as the investigation continues.

Investigators are seeking the public's help in this case. If you have any information, please call the Sheriff's Office at 503-629-0111.
