FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH ON HWY 26 NEAR MP 33 - CLACKAMAS COUNTY (PHOTO)

Oregon State Police (OSP)troopers are continuing the investigation of a fatal motor vehicle crash on highway 26 near milepost 33 in Clackamas County.
Preliminary information indicates that shortly before 3:30 a.m., a white, 2014 Hyundai 4-door sedan, driven by MICHAEL E. EBERITZSCH II, 22, of Bend, was traveling eastbound on highway 26 at milepost 33 when it left its lane and crossed into the right hand lane of westbound traffic. The Hyundai collided head-on with a 2003 Kenworth log truck with its trailer bunked. A wheel from the log truck came off during the crash striking another semi-truck as it passed by in a secondary crash.
The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both drivers in the semi-trucks were not injured during the incident and are cooperating with investigators. While this incident is still under investigation speed and alcohol are being investigated as a potential factors in this crash.
OSP was assisted by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Sandy Police Department, Oregon Department of Transportation, Sandy Fire Department and Hoodland Fire Department.
