FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH ON HWY 26 NEAR MP 33 - CLACKAMAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police (OSP)troopers are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on highway 26 near milepost 33 in Clackamas County.
Preliminary information indicates that shortly before 3:30 a.m., a white 2014 Hyundai 4-door sedan, was traveling eastbound on highway 26 at milepost 33 when it crossed out of its lane and into the right hand lane of westbound traffic. The Hyundai collided head-on with a 2003 Kenworth semi-truck, which was unloaded. A wheel from the semi-truck came off during the crash striking another semi-truck as it passed by in a secondary crash.
The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both drivers in the semi-trucks were not injured during the incident and are cooperating with investigators. This crash and the reason the Hyundai crossed the center-line is still under investigation.
Highway 26 has been closed since the time of the crash as investigators reconstruct the incident. For updates on road closures go to www.tripcheck.com.
OSP is being assisted by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Sandy Police Department, Oregon Department of Transportation, Sandy Fire Department and Hoodland Fire Department.
