On February 20, 2015, officers from the Vancouver Police Department responded to a report of a possible shooting inside a residence located in the 11300 block of SE 14th Ct. Initial information received through 911 indicated one victim was reported to have been shot, and was still believed to be inside the house. It was reported the alleged shooter's whereabouts were unknown.
After officers arrived, attempts were made to contact anyone inside. After a few minutes, an adult female came out of the house and informed officers that no one was shot or hurt inside her home. Officers were given permission to search the house and confirmed no one was inside, and no indications of a shooting were present.
The person who called 911 was contacted by police during this same time as this incident was developing. It became clear to officers in speaking to the adult male he was displaying indications of having significant mental health issues. The male was subsequently transported to an area hospital for a mental health evaluation.
There is no indication at this time of any criminal intent on behalf of the caller, and no charges are going to be pursued.
