UPDATE (Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015) -- ARREST MADE IN JAN. 22 SHOOTING; ARRAIGNMENT SET FOR TODAY
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the Jan. 22 shooting of Scott L. Firkus. The shooting happened at the intersection of SE 20th and Park in unincorporated Clackamas County.
On Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, deputies arrested Zachary Michael Hughes on charges that include Attempted Murder and Assault in the First Degree, and transported him to the Clackamas County Jail.

Bail is set at $295,000. A booking photo is attached.
Until yesterday, Hughes was in custody at Washington County Jail, where he was being held on a probation violation. He is now lodged at Clackamas County Jail.
Zachary Hughes will be arraigned at 3 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015) at the Clackamas County Courthouse in Oregon City.

Detectives continue to investigate the shooting at SE 20th and Park while crime scene investigators evaluate evidence collected. Detectives are not releasing any additional details at this time about the crime.
The victim is identified as Scott L. Firkus, age 44, transient.
The victim remains in intensive care.
The victim's family does not want any media contact.

EARLIER: Jan. 22, 2015, 9:27 a.m.
At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015, deputies responded to a reported shooting at the intersection of SE 20th and Park in unincorporated Clackamas County.
Callers to 911 had reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area. The callers then went outside and found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the roadway on SE 20th at Park.
Deputies arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital by AMR, where he is currently listed in serious condition.
Deputies searched the immediate area. At this writing the suspect in this shooting is outstanding. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives are currently canvassing the area.
More details will be released as the investigation continues.
