On 10-10-14 at about 0136 hours Wilsonville Police responded to a report of a burglary at Wilsonville Diamond, a jewelry store, located at 8251 SW Wilsonville Road. The story is located in a retail complex called Town Center.
One of the businesses in the complex is a Taco Bell restaurant that operates a late night drive through. A customer seated in their car heard the sound of breaking glass and went to investigate. They observed a gray Nissan Pathfinder with two occupants and two persons outside of the car, at least one of whom had entered the store through a broken window. This information was communicated to police dispatch and police responded.
The two men outside the vehicle are described only as males wearing hooded sweatshirts. The only occupant of the vehicle that could be described was the passenger who was descibed as having long, dark hair.
A few moments after the arrival of the patrol deputies to the scene, another deputy observed the suspect vehicle driving northbound on Interstate 5 at Elligsen Road. The deputy followed the vehicle and when a second patrol car joined them activated his emergency lights. In the area generally east of the junction of I-5 northbound and I-205 northbound the vehicle made as if it were going to pull over to the left and yield. The vehicle then turned left and drove through the large center median area until it joined I-205 in the opposite direction and then took the ramp leading to I-5 northbound. At the end of the ramp, rather than proceed northbound on I-5, the vehicle executed a left hand turn to proceed southbound in the northbound lanes of I-5. The deputies stopped following the vehicle at that point.
The suspect vehicle has not yet been located. It is Oregon 662GGE, a gray 1994 Nissan Pathfinder with peeling paint and missing the spare tire on the rear mounted spare tire mount. If the vehicle is observed, please call 911.
It is believed that jewelry was stolen during the burglary. A complete inventory is being conducted by the business to determine the exact losses.
Evidence has been collected and leads are being pursued at this time.
