WILSONVILLE, OR -- City Manager Bryan Cosgrove announced today the hiring of Susan Cole as the new Finance Director for the City of Wilsonville.

Cole has over 20 years of experience managing and strategically directing financial operations for a variety of organizations such as the City of Portland, City of Forest Grove, City of Seattle, King County, Washington, and Eastside Catholic High School in Bellevue, Washington.

Currently, Cole serves as the Finance Supervisor for the City of Portland's Bureau of Parks and Recreation, where she is responsible for managing accounting and payroll and supervising a team of accounting professionals. In this position, Cole is also oversees the implementation of internal controls and policy compliance and serves as the audit lead for the Bureau preparing and reviewing audit schedules.

Prior to working for the City of Portland, Cole worked for nine years as the City of Forest Grove's Assistant Director of the Department of Administrative Services. In this position Cole managed the five-year financial plan and forecast for the city's general fund, as well as independently created five-year financial plans and forecasts for other City funds, including the water, sewer, surface water management, street and equipment funds. Susan also analyzed revenues, expenditures, capital infrastructure investments, and reserve funds, ensuring the implementation of city policies and needed capital investment, while maintaining the overall fiscal health of each fund.

Cole is a graduate of Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and also holds a Master's Degree in Economics from Portland State University.

Cole is a member of the Oregon Municipal Finance Officers Association and a member of the budget committee for Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District.

A resident of Aloha for about 10 years, Cole and her husband enjoy camping and completing home improvement projects.
