On 10-20-14, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Milwaukie Police responded to the 3700 block of SE Monroe Street in regards to a domestic disturbance between 37-year-old Shane Anthony Gonzales and his 29-year-old girlfriend. Mr. Gonzales threatened to slit his girlfriend's throat with a kitchen knife in the presence of their six-year-old child. The victim was able to get outside the residence and asked a passerby to call police.
When police arrived the victim and her 6-year-old son were uninjured, but her car tires had been slashed and Mr. Gonzales had fled the area armed with a sword. Police established a perimeter of the area and suspended school bus service for nearby Rowe Junior High. A Code Red (Reverse 9-1-1 system.) was also issued by LOCOM, alerting nearby residents of the situation.
Mr. Gonzales was located about a block away hiding in a shed. His sword was not recovered. Mr. Gonzales was taken into custody and is currently lodged at Clackamas County Jail. Mr. Gonzales faces charges of Menacing - APA (Abuse Prevention Act) and Criminal Mischief II.
