Wanted for Felony Warrant for Assault 2nd degree and Kidnaping as well as additional local charges.
Approximately 13:30 Hrs today a Sheriff's Office Patrol deputy placed a stop on an unlicensed motorcycle near Pup Creek Road and NE Glory Trail Road in north Clark County. The motorcycle driver stopped at a residence on Glory Trail Road. The motorcycle driver provided a false identity, a check of the motorcycle showed that it was reported stolen out of Cowlitz County. The driver was taken into custody, handcuffed and placed into the secure transport seating in the rear of the patrol car.
The deputy interviewed another male subject later identified as Bradley Sigmund at the residence. That subject also provided false identification information, as the deputy was attempting to take the second male into custody he bolted from the scene. The deputy gave chase a short distance from the stop and was required to deploy his taser to prevent Sigmund's escape. As the deputy was taking Sigmund into custody, a female also at the scene, Ashlyn Dodds aided in the escape of Petersen by opening the rear transport door of the patrol vehicle and unbuckling Petersen. Petersen, although handcuffed behind his back, ran from the scene and disappeared into the thick brush of the rural forested area.
As additional units arrived at the scene, Dodds and Sigmund were both taken into custody and secured. During subsequent investigation, the true identity of the stolen motorcycle driver was learned, Cameron Petersen. Petersen has an outstanding arrest warrant for Assault 2nd degree and Kidnapping.
Officers with Vancouver Police and the US Marshal's Service along with K-9 units attempted to locate Petersen without success. Petersen may still be wearing handcuff's - his present whereabouts are unknown. Anyone sighting Petersen or with knowledge of his location is asked to call 911.
